I am an outgoing and very passionate person. I love teaching and mentoring students that are eager to learn. I have been a professor at Eastern Kentucky University for almost 20 years and feel this is my home. The Recreation and Park Administration Department at EKU is full of ambitious, bright, and pleasant students and faculty. Before finding my home at EKU, I had the wonderful opportunity to begin the recreation therapy department at the Thompson – Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY. I supervised 15 staff and 300 volunteers. Before the Veterans Center, I was a professor at Asbury University and was also responsible for the Intramural Programs. At Asbury I was responsible for the development, training, and supervision of the entire intramural program for the University. The intramural program provided services for approximately 400 students with intramural programs six days a week.
I have been married for about 17 years and have a wonderful son that keeps us busy. I lived in many places as a child including Kentucky, Ohio and Los Angeles. As a recreation enthusiast I enjoy camping, water skiing, golfing and tennis. Some of my many hobbies include reading, making stained glass pieces, and making pottery. A few interesting facts about myself is that I love playing practical jokes and playing the piano.
