P-12 Physical Education and Health Teaching
The Physical Education and Health degree program, leading to P - 12 teacher certification, prepares the student to teach physical education and health preschool through grade twelve.
Students completing the program are eligible to teach at the elementary, middle or high school level.
Students must apply and be accepted into the P-12 Physical Education and Health Teaching degree program. Admission criteria include a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 plus an interview.
Beyond general education program requirements, the curriculum offers core and supporting courses to increase the knowledge base in physical education and health. Professional Education requirements prepare the student for the student teaching experience in the schools. Finally, students take the PRAXIS to certify as a P-12 Physical Education and Health teacher.
