Jackson to Intern at Duke
Exercise and Wellness program graduate student Cardario Jackson has landed a summer internship at the prestigious Duke Diet and Fitness Center on the campus of Duke University. Jackson began the internship May 21 and will spend the next three months working at the facility. His duties include gym and pool supervision, group exercise instruction, fitness assessments, personal training, research, and project development. He will also observe exercise testing of Duke Diet and Fitness Center clients at the Duke Medical Clinic and possibly open heart, bariatric, or joint replacement surgery. Department Chair and internship coordinator Jack Rutherford said, "Cardario is very excited about this opportunity and can't wait to get involved and show what he has learned in our graduate program at EKU. The Duke Diet and Fitness Center is a nationally renowned facility and we are pleased that Cardario was selected from the many qualified applicants."
