Faculty Present at Southern District Convention

Department of Exercise and Sport Science faculty were prominent among presenters at the recent Southern District of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance convention held February 19-22, 2014 in Lexington, KY. A total of eight faculty presented 11 sessions at the convention. The presentations included:

Dr. Marianne McAdam: The science behing core training.

Dr. Eric Fuchs & Dr. Matt Sabin: Concussion legislation: What does it mean for the coach and physical educator? How to implement a concussion management program from education to emergency action plan requirements.

Dr. Marianne McAdam: Using folk dance to reinforce the elements of dance.

Dr. Louisa Summers: The effects of an eight month adapted physical activity program on gross motor skills of children with disabilities.

Dr. Heather Adams-Blair: When in doubt, tell the truth.
