Anderson Receives KAHPERD Student Major of the Year Award

Whitney Anderson, a senior Physical Education major at Eastern Kentucky University was recently selected as the Kentucky Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Student Major of the Year. Whitney was nominated by her advisor for the award because she is what the profession needs in future teachers. She is very involved in student activities at EKU. She is president of the Exercise and Sport Science Association, Special Olympics volunteer, fitness instructor at the Richmond Teen Center, and a member of the Tobacco-Free Task Force at EKU. She sits on the KAHPERD Board as the student representative and gave a presentation at the 2014 KAHPERD Summer Workshop. Congratulations to Whitney on this award.
