Alumnus Bowman Making her Mark
In 2010 Kayla Bowman was a senior Physical Education major in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science. She now works for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a non-profit group founded by the Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association. The group's mission is to address the rapid increase in childhood obesity rates by working with schools in all 50 states to help them create healthier environments for their students and staff. Recently, Bowman got to meet former President Bill Clinton at an event celebrating 250 schools who qualified for gold, silver and bronze national level recognition awards. The First Lady, Michelle Obama also gave a special message to the recipients. Bowman certainly proves you can come here and go anywhere.
