Sports Administration

Master of Science in Physical Education with an option in Sports Administration

The challenges and complexities of organized sport demand well-prepared professionals with expertise in diverse areas such as sport programming, marketing and promotion, fundraising, game management, supervision, and facility planning. The sport administration option offers students the latest in theory and practice to prepare for the rapidly changing sport industry.

The sport administration option emphasizes practical training by culminating with an internship experience at a sport agency. Students work directly with a mentor to “learn the ropes” and put their theories to the test. A number of area sports agencies participate in the internship experience including the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, Lexington Legends, University of Kentucky, Kentucky State University, and EKU Athletics, as well as several community sport and recreation organizations.
